Parking
Downtown parking is FREE on evenings and weekends at the meters and at the garages! And the first hour in all City garages is FREE!
The garages charge $1 an hour to park between the hours of 2:30am and 6:00pm, and there is a parking attendant on duty at the garages until 8:00pm to collect any parking fees that may have accrued between those hours of 2:30am and 6:00pm. Remember that your first hour is always free, and that many Downtown businesses participate in Downtown's Parking Validation Program! For more information on parking validation, call our office at (607) 277-8679, or the City Chamberlain's office at (607) 274-6580.
Municipal lots are located at the corner of Tioga and Seneca Streets (the Seneca Garage) and on S. Cayuga Street, across from the Holiday Inn (the Cayuga Garage). These parking areas are denoted with the P sign on the Downtown Map.
Seneca Garage
The Seneca Garage is situated at the corner of Tioga and Seneca Streets across the street from the Commons and Seneca Place/Hilton Hotel. This 450 car garage is operated by the City of Ithaca and a new pay station has recently been installed.
Cayuga Garage
The Cayuga Garage (pictured at right) is Downtown’s newest state-of-the-art parking facility. The garage can accommodate nearly 700 cars. The Cayuga Garage is located across from the Holiday Inn at the corner of Clinton and Cayuga Streets, and boasts a short, scenic walk along Six Mile Creek to the landmark Ithaca Commons. The facility is privately managed for the City by ProPark.
Green Garage
Downtown's newest parking facility, up to 400 cars, street level parking is at the entrance off of Green Street. Street level handicap parking is adjacent to City Hall, and the majority of parking is a block further down.
