Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County Presents
AgStravaganza!
Saturday, April 1, 2017, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Ithaca Commons & Surrounding Streets
Saturday, April 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. the farm comes to the Ithaca Commons! Over 20 local direct marketing farms will fill the Commons, including Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), cheese, beer, flower, and meat operations. Come stroll the Commons and chat with farmers, sample their products, and find your farmer!
You can also check out some big farm equipment, watch some great agriculture videos, and talk to a plant scientist. The Tompkins County Dairy Princess will be joined by two of the State Princesses to serve Cornell Dairy ice cream samples and Polly-O cheese sticks, as well as offering the Wheel O’Dairy and their famous “Life is Cud” T-shirts!
Tompkins County 4-Her’s will be on hand to show and talk about their livestock, including a calf, sheep, bunnies, and poultry. They will be joined by members of the Dog Obedience Club throughout the event. You can also learn about other 4-H clubs and how to join one, and how to become an independent member. Rounding out the farm critter contingent will be Laughing Goat Fiber Farm, with some new lambs
CCE-Tompkins and Tompkins County Recycling are teaming up to help you learn more about reducing your waste stream, with on-site collection containers to help us manage the containers left over from ice cream and the tasty delights you will find from our local-food-focused food vendor, OmNomNomlettes.
