The Tompkins County Tourism Program supports many events in this area with the primary goal to draw more visitors to Tompkins County. How can you enhance your event to increase the likelihood of overnight stays and secondary spending in this community? This workshop will discuss formatting your event to attract visitors and increase tourism to the county.

CREATING INCLUSIVE EVENTS & PROGRAMMING
A workshop with Brave Trainings' Founder, Cornell F. Woodson on how to achieve inclusivity in your events from design to implementation. Participants will walk away with language and a basic understanding of how to monitor your programming to ensure you are producing thoughtful and welcoming experiences and environments.

Learn firsthand from a County Health Department representative about the rules and regulations pertaining to food vendors and food service at your event. Learn the required permits, deadlines, and checkpoints when it comes to planning mass gathering events.

What is the best way to get the word out about your special event? How soon should you start promoting your event, where, and how? This workshop will weigh in on the merits of print, radio, online advertising, press releases strategies, etc. And also give you a realistic timelines for creating an integrated marketing campaign to promote your event.

HOW DO YOU MEASURE SUCCESS? Event evaluation, winding down your event and preparing for the following year.
By what measure was your event a success? Attendance? Draw? Who came to your event and how did they find out about your event? How do you gauge popular opinion? This seminar will detail why event evaluation is critical to the longevity of your event, and how to use it to your advantage going forward. If you have received a grant for your event this workshop is particularly good to attend.
