The History Center

The History Center in Tompkins County is a center for learning, where the stories and artifacts of local experience are used to examine history in both local and national dimensions. The History Center provides outstanding history-based educational programming in partnership with our community that nurtures the joy of learning, enriches our understanding of the past, and inspires constructive thinking about the future.

A place for discovery...The History Center Research Library serves casual readers and scholars, school children, local historians, genealogists, and professional researchers. Staff and volunteer Research Assistants facilitate research on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or by special appointment. Along with providing access to primary source materials, The History Center is equipped to make professional quality photographic copy prints and scans of photographs from the collections. Photocopying services are also provided for a fee. 

OPEN: 
Exhibits & Research Library Hours: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 11am-5pm. Closed major holidays, Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
